About Melbourne Victory FC
Like Adelaide United FC, Melbourne Victory is considered to be on of the most successful clubs in the A-League, their home ground is Etihad Stadium Melbourne. Founded in 2003 after the announcement of a revamped domestic league in Australia, Melbourne Victory was approved by Melbourne’s representative in the League. It was widely believed that Melbourne Victory would be contenders for the premiership in the inaugural season, however they were anything but as they only won 7 out of 21 matches, the highlight of the season being the 5-0 thrashing of Sydney FC.
During the 2006 – 07 season Melbourne Victory would become the first team to complete the A-League double in the history of the competition. 2008 was also the year that Melbourne Victory Qualified for the 2008 Asian Champions League as A-League Champions.
