Brisbane Roar Football Club is one of the 10 Teams to participate in the Hyundai A-League, formerly known as Queensland Roar FC they changed their name to Brisbane Roar FC in May 2009.
About Brisbane Roar FC
As the Hyundai A-League was being conceived it was preferred that 7 teams from each of the nations 7 capital cities be formed. On the 1st of November 2004 the group headed by Queensland Lions Soccer Club were chosen to operate the Brisbane team, they originally played in the defunct National Football League as the Brisbane Lions.
The majority of Brisbane Roar’s success has been off field with large amounts of spectators at each of their games the team was the first to have 100,000 pass through their gates. It wasn’t till the 2007 – 2008 season that they were able to reach the finals after a 8 win, winning streak.
