Bundesliga

Composed of two different divisions, Budesliga is the highest tier of football in Germany since the early years of 1974. The Bundesligen leagues are professional premiership football leagues. The second division of the Bundesliga is also a professional grade league, but of a lesser degree. Each time must have a license to play lest they be moved into a regional league. The key difference between the upper division of Bundesliga and the lower division are focused mainly on fan turnout, funding, and football betting.

How does the Bundesliga work?

The entire tournament grid is somewhat lengthy, with each club playing every other club in two games (home and away). Victories are each worth three points in the grand head-to-head total to see who advances and who doesn’t. At the end of the season, the single club to have the most points at the season’s end becomes the German champions. Even better, qualification for the UEFA Champion’s League is automatically granted to the top two teams of the Bundesliga.

A total of 18 clubs face off throughout the grid, and this Level 1 pyramid tournament leads over into not only the Champions league but also the Europa League. It was founded in 1963, and since then the team with the most championships is known as FC Bayern Munich. The most recent season, however, has the Bayer Leverkusen club as the current winner with 8 wins and 6 losses. Unfortunately for those taking part in football betting, odds for this team was at first rather low, so bets were placed on more likely teams such as Werder Bremen (which placed second) and Hamburg (which placed 5th). All of these teams are making the top five however, which means they will be heading off to the 2010-2011 UEFA Europa League.

Particular players of interest this most recent season are spread across all teams though. Bayer Leverkusen’s Stefan Kießling was the top scorer with a startling 12 goals throughout the season, which easily rocketed his team into the first place position. It’s Werder Bremen though that has the player that possesses the most assists: 10, to be exact. Considering that the two top players are each in rival teams only further intensifies the tension.

This German league of premiership football is most certainly an occasion to be looked forward to. With its huge funding, amazing prize payouts to participating teams, and extensive media coverage, Bundesliga is one of the most active football betting hotspots, and most certainly the most watched international tournament (not counting the world-wide FIFA World Cup).
